Singapore is a melting pot of many culture, the result is a rich and unique food culture. At the top of the local food chart are dishes such as Chilli Crabs, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Curry Fish Head. With globalisation, we see these Singapore favourites being exported overseas as well, but is it doing well in foreign land?
Every week, the programme will investigate the popularity of one local dish in 3 foreign cities, with each segment hosted by a different host. They will visit restaurants and check if the dish retains its authenticity or has been modified to suit foreign tastes. They will also go into homes of Singaporeans who have migrated and join in their feasting of local dishes to curb their homesickness.
Singapore Flavours will take viewers on a culinary tour to Tokyo, Calcutta, San Francisco, London, Beijing, and many more cosmopolitan cities.
